And, if she did run into an occasional bad guy, she had some protection.

Well, happiness can be taken from you - that's what envy tries to do. When you realize that your happiness isn't in "things", you are free to never have your happiness taken from you.

Merry Second Day of Christmas.Elizabeth Kaetonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06787552280232329081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-40016199510952299632008-12-26T17:51:00.000-05:002008-12-26T17:51:00.000-05:00Rattle snakes, Bill. Now, why didn't I think of tha...Rattle snakes, Bill.

Now, why didn't I think of that.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05623709712119761741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-38728537180218906612008-12-26T17:47:00.000-05:002008-12-26T17:47:00.000-05:00Happy trails to all of us--thanks!Happy trails to all of us--thanks!Pat Klemmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206542501782835734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-76002433223746659122008-12-26T12:42:00.000-05:002008-12-26T12:42:00.000-05:00Rattle snakes, Bill.Dale grew up to be a good evan...Rattle snakes, Bill.

Dale grew up to be a good evangelical, putting in her time at "Trinity Broadcasting" (Is that what they're called?). She had the big hair that went along with all of that.

I saw her in person once. In high school in the 70s, I played in a local "youth orchestra" and Dale was making an appearance for Some Christian group in the same facility where we practiced. Someone, one of the parents, I'm sure, thought she should come and greet the kids at orchestra practice, and she did. I got a chuckle out of it since most of the orchestra members had no idea who she was (I knew of her because of her evangelical connections and Saturday afternoon reruns.) and she referenced people in the Christian music biz that the kids didn't know (Ralph Carmichael). She seemed to be unaware that she wasn't making much of an impression.KJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15701224049914946896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-62284266744486277652008-12-26T12:31:00.000-05:002008-12-26T12:31:00.000-05:00"It's about the incredible privilege of having God..."It's about the incredible privilege of having God working through us, flawed and faulted as we are. It's not about us, but it is in knowing that it can't happen without us." Your words, Christmas Eve.

Your words, deare. Isn't preaching from a "prepared heart" a hoot?! It is both terrifying and absoulutely magical. It is the total contact with people's eyes and faces and knowing without a doubt that God's words are coming from Her to them through you. It is the way I, at times, practice the trust that I have so much trouble putting in God. It keeps the "trust knife" sharp in my life. Because trust is like a knife edge.

Being happy is the one thing that no one can take from you and that is why it is so enviable.Muthah+https://www.blogger.com/profile/10589837671378205837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-45616724452826040292008-12-26T10:43:00.000-05:002008-12-26T10:43:00.000-05:00I could never understand why Dale wore a gun and h...I could never understand why Dale wore a gun and holster. The one Roy Rodger's TV show was set in a modern times ranch. Their ranch hand, Pat Brady, rode around in a jeep called "nellie bell". Trigger and Bullit where there of course but it wasn't set in the old west, so again, why the gun? And yes, I am old enough to have seen the TV show.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05623709712119761741noreply@blogger.com
