I think what is so head-scratching about it is that for millenia churches have had "infidelity trouble" with heterosexual clergy (everyone knows at least one story of clergy running off with the church secretary and the money, or the Sr. warden, or whatnot) but somehow a single homosexual bishop who is in a faithful manogamous relationship and has the demeanor of Clark Kent is the root of all evil.
