I have been trying to find a church that is a good fit and find that the judgement and lack of loving community in my near by Catholic churches has presented a road block in reconnecting with a church community. Your posts have mirrored thoughts that I have had and are encouraging me to be open to trying churches other than Catholic. I have always been true to my faith independently but I get so much out of worshiping with others.Lalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05166997343366685811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-39307796864078003212018-08-02T23:29:25.919-04:002018-08-02T23:29:25.919-04:00Thank you, Elizabeth, for your reports from the tr...Thank you, Elizabeth, for your reports from the trenches. That is a denomination that has attempted to be a home for the LGBTQ community since 1968 and meets the needs of that community which comes from every background in modern day Christendom. Romans, Lutherans, Anglicans/Episcopalians Methodists, high church, low church, Evangelicals, Baptists, Mennonites, etc. In the Eucharistic Prayers of the majority of MCC clergy, the epiclesis asks, to some effect, “…send your Holy Spirit upon these elements of grape & grain, that they may be for each of us a perfect & holy communion.”"Brother Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06333089314994730330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-34116051411978109072018-07-29T19:59:02.589-04:002018-07-29T19:59:02.589-04:00Shout out to the Jesuits. Every Friday night, they would have Eucharist and we would always be invited. And, the w/e that I was ordained, they invited me to preside that following Friday night. It was pretty fabulous. It was a Catholic service, so of course I couldn't receive Communion. I will say that the celebrant, a Jesuit, announced this in a slightly embarrassed tone. I know the announcement is standard practice, but I'd never heard anyone sound regretful about it before.Bexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08411765555371809052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-11098121190903743102018-07-29T16:13:21.668-04:002018-07-29T16:13:21.668-04:00Oh, well done!
