I'm not persuaded that this is a zero sum game. Even if it were, I could live with it (and I hope I'll still say that if it comes to be).Paul Davisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04773823407778121041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-58275476345480650862008-04-15T21:13:00.000-04:002008-04-15T21:13:00.000-04:00The system means that the burden of expensive heal...The system means that the burden of expensive health care can now affect insured people, too.

GOOD! One of the problems is that those who have it good have it too good. Too many people have a personal interest in the current system. "I've got mine," as they say.

Well, now you know. All of you know what the rest of us have been living with all along. It's scary isn't it? I recently got a much better policy for myself. Thanks Be To God! But, what I am paying for it in money and energy is more than I want to think about right now.Lindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04662429826507775390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29373297.post-89765672922421162522008-04-14T21:26:00.000-04:002008-04-14T21:26:00.000-04:00I have what I consider excellent insurance through...I have what I consider excellent insurance through Federal employment, like the Steinwands, but, when I priced 90 days of Copaxone through mine, the copayment is $451.61 (still only $150.54 a month)! I went and priced 90 days of Sprycel and got a copayment of $3255.53!! My insurance has a mail order system with would cut that to $35, but I know many plans don't have that.

I recognize in this area at least, I am in a place of privilege, and I'm not happy with that. I recently had a routine cancer screening procedure (negative, thanks be to God!) for $25, because my insurance picked up the remaining $2975 (approximately). If I didn't have insurance, even at my relatively high income, I would have passed on the procedure. Most people would not have had a choice and could not have it done. Some would miss out on a chance to catch cancer in the treatable stages. Where's the morality in that?Paul Davisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04773823407778121041noreply@blogger.com
