"Finally, I suspect that it is by entering that deep place inside us where our secrets are kept that we come perhaps closer than we do anywhere else to the One who, whether we realize it or not, is of all our secrets the most telling and the most precious we have to tell." Frederick Buechner

PRELUDIUM: It was forty years ago today....
One of my dearest friends in ministry is Mark Harris, a priest from the Diocese of Delaware. I first met him in 1986 and instantly fell in love with his intelligence and wit and left-of-center humor.
Go on over to his amazing blog and wish him Happy Anniversary!
Rock on, Mark Harris, rock on!

Comment Code of Conduct
I will express myself with civility, courtesy, and respect for every member of this online community, especially toward those with whom I disagree—even if I feel disrespected by them. (Romans 12:17-21)
I will express my disagreements with other community members' ideas without insulting, mocking, or slandering them personally. (Matthew 5:22)
I will not exaggerate others' beliefs nor make unfounded prejudicial assumptions based on labels, categories, or stereotypes. I will always extend the benefit of the doubt. (Ephesians 4:29)
I understand that comments reported as abusive are reviewed by the Blog Owner and are subject to removal. Repeat offenders will be blocked from making further comments. (Proverbs 18:7)
(With thanks to Sojourners)
Elizabeth, I had my orders concerning Mark's anniversary earlier from MadPriest, and who would dare to disobey him?
ReplyDeleteI heard somewhere that you would be "Doin' the Lambeth Walk". I hope you will do Lambeth blogging while you're there - that is if you have time what with your meetings and stuff. In anticipation of the trip, I give you this:
Any time you're Lambeth way,
Any evening, any day,
You'll find us all
Doin' the Lambeth Walk.
Every little Lambeth gal,
With her little Lambeth pal,
You'll find 'em all
Doin' the Lambeth Walk.
Everything free and easy,
Do as you darn well pleasy,
Why don't you make your way there
Go there, stay there.
Once you get down Lambeth way
Ev'ry ev'ning, ev'ry day,
You'll find yourself
Doin' the Lambeth Walk.
