Okay, so here's the deal.
I have this amazingly wonderful, intelligent, beautiful, imminently kind and gentle Director of Christian Education named Melissa.
Why? Because her name begins with "M", that's why. (Sheesh!)
She's also a recovering Calvinist and a wonderfully irreverent but deeply committed Christian who loves Jesus and the church but not at the expense of her sense of humor.
She also, apparently, does not have enough to do, so she put together these little videos of our staff as Santa's elves.
In this one, you can see Laura, the almost-world-famous (thanks to the 'City of God Christmas Appeal') financial guru at St. Paul's, Linda, our Pastoral Assistant, moi, and Randy, our Parish Administrator.
And, in THIS one, you can see Emmy (herself), Brandon, our Organist/Choir Director, and Tim, our Missioner for Youth and Young Families.
Missing is our sexton, Sam, but he's brand new and I'm sure it's just a short little while before he's added. Our staff Christmas Party is Monday. I'm sure there'll be plenty of pictures of Sam after that.
You know the old saying: 'You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it doesn't hurt'?
That was invented for my staff.
Consider this a wee little treat in anticipation of "Rose / Refreshment Sunday" in Advent.
In the midst of the Christmas madness, don't forget to keep the 'elf' in self!
You are a terrible influence. Or I am a very weak-willed person. Or both.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being silly now and again.
I blamed "that Kaeton Woman" when posting my elfinization and have evidently caused some keyboard spews already. Do I dance that badly?
ReplyDeleteYou are so right and so gracious to help us all lighten up in this busy time. Thanks, I don't really think you're evil, no matter what the funny man across the water says.
It is especially healthy for us clergy types not to take ourselves too seriously.
