A little easier on the eyes, eh?

It all started when Klady taught me how to add a permalink to my posts.

Then, suddenly, I discovered the font changes. Then, I thought about upgrading the look - the color - the feel.

You change one thing and well . . . now you know how the conservatives feel.

You know, I may not like not being the 'Pepto Bismol Pink Lady'. It seemed to annoy the neo-Puritans so.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile.

I'll live with it for a bit and see how it feels.

So, what do YOU think?

  1. It's lovely, clean, and readable.

    Standing ovation from this webgal!

  2. Love it, thanks for changing to give posts their own page, it makes it so much easier to link to them or bookmark favorites.

New look is very clear, rather peaceful. :)

  3. ¡Gracias a Dios!

I really detested the pink. This is a breath of fresh air.

  4. INfinitely better. Much more readable.

  5. My eyes rejoice. Thank you.

[I detested the pink too but that may be a guy thing and I don't want to drag my aesthetics into your space. This is easier to read.]

  6. I like the color and spaciousness, but sans serif fonts are actually harder on the eyes, though everyone these days seems to love them. I learned about this in Fonts 101, which actually was an informal home course with no name from my dad. So that's why books and newspapers are in serif fonts.

So I'd suggest keeping the light airy look but going to a serif font (the one I use is Georgia, rounder and less boring than Times Roman) -- there isn't a lot of choice on Blogger.

Then again, re: the color, I think you should be the pink lady if you want to be!

  7. I LIKE it!

Sometimes, a change will do you good!

  8. NO!
I want the previous photo back.
This is a soppy photo (goes with pink).
This new template demands an in yer face photo

  9. Okay, okay, Maddy. I said I was going to live with it for a while. We'll see. BTW, I LIKE that photo of me. It's what I do most at St. Paul's. We're waiting for our 1,000th baptism. We have one scheduled for June. We'll see who comes forward for the Great Vigil of Easter.

  10. Soppy, soppy, soppy.
I go for a crap once a day but I wouldn't put a photo of me doing it on my blog.
Ah! Get out of that one!

  11. Oh, my my, but we are in a foul mood today, aren't we Mr. Emperor, sir? I had no idea that this would torment you so! Well, it appears my work here is done.

  12. Maddy, you DID like the recording of The Divine Billy, did you not? Did you see how clever I've become, adding all these widgets and things? Are you not impressed?

Sniff. The last time you behaved this way you simply reduced me to tears. I'll not have that again.

(Tosses head, reaches for tissue, walks out the door with her head held high, off to say Mass, perchance to baptize).

  13. Very nice, Elizabeth.

Sometimes tweaking these things can become almost addictive.

  14. I like the photo. I do believe MP is becoming a curmudgeon. Our Elizabeth is very much in her element bouncing babies at a Baptismal service. She doesn’t like giving them back to the mother but that’s a minor problem.

Yes. That's why the Pope has banned such behaviour.

  16. It is a bit stark for my tastes, but certainly not bad. The mad one is wrong, it is a good picture.

  17. Stark. Yes. I'll have to play with some color.

But, if I do that, by the end I fear I'll need a 12-Step Program for Blog Addiction.

  18. Excuse me. But where exactly did I write "It's a BAD picture?" As far as I can remember I wrote that it was a soppy picture.

Now, soppy people and girlies won't see that. But to real men and proper lesbians it is obviously yuk gag soppy.

Anyway, I'm only saying. It's Lisbeth's blog. If she wants to look like a broody evangelical that's up to her. All I can do is offer advice as I'm always happy to do for all my friends.

  19. While I love the layout, I'm afraid I miss the pink.

  20. It is easier to read, but it is so very, very white.
A little colour (not pink) might not hurt.
But overall it's easier on the eyes.

  21. I love this version. Maybe you'll inspire me to work on mine.

  22. I like the new "look" -- keep up the great work.

  23. Goodness me, but does Maddie have his knickers in a knot over this?

As the great Durante used to say "everybody's a critic"!

  24. Love the bit of blue. Helps me to have a bit of separation instead of having everything running into everything else. Which I find a curious discovery about myself.

And the picture...well, you know how I feel about the picture. Don't listen to MadPriest!

Overall, glad you are having fun playing!

  25. Thumbs up.

And your "how I got from there to here" reminds me of advice I got from ANOTHER Elizabeth-of-Newark ... Liz Habecker ... who once told me:

Remember if you clean the fingerprints around the light switch you're going to end up having to paint the room.

  26. There's more soppiness on this thread than in the New York Museum Of Soppiness.
