"Finally, I suspect that it is by entering that deep place inside us where our secrets are kept that we come perhaps closer than we do anywhere else to the One who, whether we realize it or not, is of all our secrets the most telling and the most precious we have to tell." Frederick Buechner

Our heroic gang
A poetic reflection from our David in Montreal (reprinted with permission)
outliving the lies of their individual and collective up-bringings
the mockery, the violence, rejection and fear of their adolescence
stepping out of the 'cures' of their hetrosexual marriages
throwing off the oppression of the closet
day-by-day perhaps stepping beyond the percieved limitations of their 'otherness'
and through God's unfailing grace, in time coming out in their congregations
stepping up for ordination
and in one radiantly extraordinary case consecration
and that's to not even mention all the incredible straight brothers and sisters who have had the courage and grace to open themselves to the larger work of renewal the Holy Spirit is working at this time in our rather unique Communion
nothing short of heroic our gang, each in her/his way
And let the church say, "Amen. Amen. Amen!"
