Oh, what a night!

Despite the horrid rain, and gridlock traffic, ten of us gathered in the name of The Mad One and had a grand time this evening.

I would highly recommend the flaming Chorico (spicy Portuguese sausage) as an appetizer. The calamari was also quite good. And I loved the Portuguese "dry soup" I ordered - an amazing array of shrimp, scallops, muscles, and clams with chunks of Portuguese bread. Just like my grandmother used to make. Yum, yum! I didn't hear anyone who was disappointed with their meal. Oh, and the portions are HUGE! I think we all have our lunches for tomorrow.

We decided to try and get in all-girl smooch, but it just didn't seem to work. All we really accomplished was to raise more than a few eyebrows and turn every head in the restaurant in our direction.

So, Katharine and I finally succumbed.

Hope you're happy, Maddy.

Hope you are green with envy Mimi.

Next gathering: Somewhere in Central New Jersey. My vote is for the Ethiopian Restaurant not from from Allie's apartment. It' AMAZING.

  1. Wonderful pics!

I am honored I was part of the obligatory "drunk dialing"! It was fun to hear the voices of all the keyboards I enjoy.

Sorry I could not be in on the smooching....

  5. Oh, sure. You'll think that girls kissing girls is funny until God smites you.

Why does it look like everyone's having fun except the waiter? I trust that he was well compensated for his trouble.

  6. I have posted a group shot, taken by our waiter on Doug's camera, with first names.

  7. I spent several weeks in Boulder Colorado recently. To my happy surprise there is a really good Ethiopian restaurant there. If anyone is going to be there let me know and I will email directions.
