"Tis to laugh . . .

There's nothing like the Vicar of Dibley End Jokes at the end of a very long and not so funny day.

I LOVE the one about the "New Low Fat Communion Wafer."

And, I ADORE Alice!

Go on, then. Click 'play' and have a laugh. Even if you watch this at the beginning of the day, it's bound to make it a better start.

Oh, and never put a pencil in your mouth. It may have been one of Harry's.

  5. It's not unlike Dame Edna Everidge's Madge, I think.

Do you have Dame Edna in the US? it's a rather big guy from Australia dressed up to the nines... Gredeline hair, strass spectacles...

Her friend Madge (the actress) was about a 100 years old when she died (seriously).

It took a few years before Swedish State Television dared show the most hilarious shows...

  6. Dame Edna makes me laugh so hard I occasionally snort. She's grand, isn't she?

I think the chemistry between Geraldine and Alice is simply brilliant. It's the joke inside the joke trick that they do to absolute perfection.

Love it, love it, love it. Glad y'all did, too

  7. The final joke was often the best part of the show - not least because of Alice's reactions. I also enjoyed the Three Nuns at the Pearly Gates joke and the "That boy should have quit while he was ahead" one - the final joke of the entire series - the one that Alice gets and near dies laughing when Harry explains its grammatical structure to her.

    Thanks for posting these.

  8. Love it! Loved the show. Love the "nun's cross."

Goran, you mean the MEGA SUPER star Dame Edna! I'm sure there are many friends of Kenny around here. The first time I saw her perform, I laughed so hard, at one point my head hit the seat in front of me. However, I doubt that Alice would find her very funny.

  9. My 14 yr. old nephew asked me to order the "Immaculate Collection"(The entire series but I'm not certain if Gerry's wedding is included.) from Amazon. He wanted to give them to his parents for Christmas, so I did and he did. They've watched an enjoyed them all, and now have loaned them to me to watch as I recover from spinal surgery. I've seen most of them but will have to be careful not to laugh too hard so my stitches won't hurt too much.
I always liked it when Alice tried to do a "knock, knock "joke and messed it up every time.

  10. Alice's 'knock-knock' jokes are the BEST. I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to be surfing the net, VT Crone. And, if you're well enough to be surfing the net, well, I suppose you're well enough.

Keep getting better. Prayers continue to ascend.
