If it Fitz

My dear friends Alicia Mickenberg and Kathleen Fitzgerald moved from their lovely little home in Chatham a few years ago, and bought The Fairbanks Inn in Provincetown, MA.

I co-presided at the Blessing of their Covenant a few years back. That would be the Mickenberg-Fitzgerald Covenant. Yes, there was a Chuppa. And yes, there was Irish lace. And bells and smudge sticks and . . . it was FABULOUS!

Alicia is a brilliant musician and Kathleen is an equally brilliant lawyer.

Kathleen also has a wonderful talent as a political cartoon artist.

This is her July 4th cartoon. You can find it at her blog "If it Fitz" along with lots and lots of her other work.

Happy July 4th everybody! May be we strengthened and nourished to continue to work for the founding principles of this country:

Liberty and Justice for all.

(But especially for those who put their lives on the line to protect and defend our liberty and justice).

Brilliant and well done. And overdue!
