They pray the arrogant
and the stiff-necked
For those who once

"Finally, I suspect that it is by entering that deep place inside us where our secrets are kept that we come perhaps closer than we do anywhere else to the One who, whether we realize it or not, is of all our secrets the most telling and the most precious we have to tell." Frederick Buechner

I will express myself with civility, courtesy, and respect for every member of this online community, especially toward those with whom I disagree—even if I feel disrespected by them. (Romans 12:17-21)
I will express my disagreements with other community members' ideas without insulting, mocking, or slandering them personally. (Matthew 5:22)
I will not exaggerate others' beliefs nor make unfounded prejudicial assumptions based on labels, categories, or stereotypes. I will always extend the benefit of the doubt. (Ephesians 4:29)

(With thanks to Sojourners)
wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSo all's well that ends well?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patricia. It's amazing what pours out of me when someone on HOB/D pulls my last, poor, tired lesbian nerve.
ReplyDeleteJCF: Oh, honey, this thing is far from over. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to know that the bylaws approved by EC and passed by 815 are back in effect and the "proposed new bylaws and MOU" are off the table. Now, we can begin to move forward. Again. As far as I'm concerned, however, it won't be over until the UTO-4 are invited to 815 and there is reconciliation.
ReplyDeleteStay tuned.
My my my,
ReplyDeletemy beloved sister,
YOU do sing
fine.
and reconciliation
might be helped
by recognition
of the UTO-4,
or for that matter
most pot stirrers,
'cause making people,
mostly women,
invisible
is avoidance
and control both.
And we don't need it
shouldn't want it,
can't have it,
anymore.
Mark,
ReplyDeleteI think this makes a fine descant to my psalm.
Blessed be!
