Re: Deputies from Ft. Worth to General Convention: A few questions and a comment
1. Isn't 'deputy from Ft Worth to General Convention' an oxymoron?
2. Why are they still electing deputies to General Convention? They hate, hate, hate (with a burning passion) everything that stands for TEC and that TEC stands for.
3. Why are they allowed seat and voice, much less vote at General Convention? They haven't contributed a dime to TEC in YEARS. They don't want to be part of TEC. Whaaaaat???? Whhhhyyyyy????
4. Do they really intend to be in Anaheim in 2009????? They've been invited to be part of the Province of the Southern Cone, for goodness sake! All indications are that they, like San Joaquin, will accept. I mean, why bother???
Comment: Okay, I'm a graying brunette and I'm far from dumb. I don't get it.

I rather suspect it is all about lawyers. Quincy, by not electing deputies, has opened the door to a small glimmer of truth -- they have abandonded the communion. Bp. Iker is heading to court, and cone.
"We have not abandonded, we even elected a set of deputies......"

I would guess it's because there are folks down there who still want to be part of TEC and don't agree with some of the things that are happening within their respective churches. Their numbers may be small, but they still want to be heard.
Maybe so, but those elected are the same Deputies as Columbus in 06. None of the clergy or deputies who want to remain in TEC are among that group.
They haven't contributed a dime to TEC in YEARS.
Neither has Texas.
On one hand JLI referred to Satan and TEC in the same breath and then later on wanted us all to just get along. Of course, what he meant was that if you agree with me all is well and if you don't then you are ... well...really bad.
KJS is not an archbishop; TEC is a myth; and the diocese of FW (those who are delusional enough to think they are that entity) is voluntarily a part of TEC -- these are the basic lessons from today's journey into the land of the delusional. Duncan don't know nothing! There was no logic at this convention. None. Strange meanderings by those who might think seriously about seeking psychological help. Very strange, indeed.
It's simply a matter of having your cake and eating it, too.
