Come in! Come in!

"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a Hope-er, a Pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer; if you're a pretender, come sit by my fire. For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!" -- Shel Silverstein

An apology

Someone left a comment on yesterday's post about feeling uncomfortable, as a person in recovery, about saying "Hi, I'm ____ and I'm a Christian."

A friend who is a young law student wrote on her FB yesterday that she had been verbally accosted on the street outside her university by a woman who yelled at her that studying law was a waste of time and that she should study scripture instead.

I think we, as Christians, have a great deal for which to apologize.

Jesus can be as much of a mind altering substance or a power trip for some people than any hallucinogenic drug or demagogue or tyrant.

Just listen to this young poet. Take in the poetry, the rhythm, the meter, the content, the message of his words.

You may need to listen a few times before it all sinks in.

Then, consider whether or not you need to apologize.

And, then, decide what you want to do about it.
