What the world needs now
Remember Jackie DeShannon singing "What the world needs now/ is love, sweet love. It's the only thing/ that there's just too little of"?
It has never been more true. The world needs love. Right now.
Incarnate in more parents - and people - like this.
This is scene from last night's episode of GLEE.
If you haven't watched it you absolutely HAVE to. This is MUST SEE TV writ large.
I know. I know. I had been resisting watching it because it's on FOX. Then I realized I was, as my grandmother would say, "Cutting off the end of my nose to spite my face."
It's really great. Just a little weekly trip down high school Memory Lane to the Glee Club where we can find an antidote for the underdog in us all.
There have been some amazing scenes - the Madonna covers are amazing - but this, THIS scene is amazing.
Totally not what you'd expect on the FOX network.
But, clearly what the world needs more of.
No, not just for some, but for everyone.

Wow!
Damn good acting drove that scene. It could've come off as very melodramatic, but those are some exceptional actors. A whole lifetime of relationship was conveyed in "The place looks great!" and that touch to the hand on his shoulder.
We're lucky to have a message like that out there, and luckier to have those with skill to convey it.

Wow. And to think, that's the guy that has been doing all the Time-Warner adds.
Here in Mexico we get Fox television without Fox News! However, the Hulu video is restricted to the US, so I shall have to wait until we get this episode of Glee in a couple of weeks.
But I can see the scene from YouTube. The precedent to this is of course when Kurt came out to his dad last Fall in an episode;

While you might need to suspend belief once in a while - at least you don't have to embrace another space/time continuum (i.e. Lost)

The "minimal commercial interruption" to the Glee video was really very bad!
