CHATHAM – Jon Richardson will be ordained at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Main St.
Bishop Mark Beckwith, of the Newark Episcopal Diocese, will preside with the church’s rector, the Rev. Elizabeth Kaeton, participating.
From 2005 through 2007, Richardson was a seminarian at the church.
During this period, he was responsible for assisting in the leadership, training acolytes, crucifers and torchbearers. He also assisted with confirmation classes, adult education and was charged with a number of church administrative functions.
After serving for two years at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown, he returned to St. Paul’s in the spring to become interim director of youth and family ministries.
A graduate of Drew University, Richardson received a master of divinity degree. He also received a degree in Anglican Studies from the General Theological Seminary in New York and a bachelor of general studies degree from Louisiana State University.
In June of 2009 he was ordained as a transitional deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.
Following the ordination, a reception will be held in the parish hall.
The public is invited.
