Come in! Come in!

"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a Hope-er, a Pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer; if you're a pretender, come sit by my fire. For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!" -- Shel Silverstein

Pants on fire

We interrupt your regular blog viewing for an important announcement:

Just when you think folks on the "fringe right" can't stoop any lower . . .

A friend tipped me off to this little
gem (You know it's A Very Slow News Day in The Land of Bullies when they can spin a story out of Susan Russell's traveling itinerary.)

"Elizabeth Kaeton has already “blessed the covenant” of a group of four. She claims they consider themselves a family, and the relationship(s) is/are nonsexual."

Well, there is it, then. If it's written on a blog, it must be true, right? Every letter, word, comma, and period - just like scriptural interpretation.

Close, but no cigars. (Well, maybe one.)

Remember the children's game "whisper" (aka "telephone") where one child whispers something in the ear of another and you compare what was first said with the last message whispered in some one's ear?

What I said was

"On the other hand, I have blessed the non-sexual covenant of FRIENDSHIP between four people who considered themselves to be family."

Each had been abandoned by their families for various reasons: addiction, rebellion, gender identity, sexual orientation.

They had come to know a sense of real family in their (let me say it again, boys and girls, so we're all REAL clear) non-sexual relationships with each other.

Hear me cleary: I bless COVENANTS.

As Jesus said, "What is bound on earth is bound in heaven . . ." and I think Jesus is well pleased when we make - and the church blesses, in his name - sacred vows of honesty, love, mutality, fidelity, and respect.

Don't you?"

It's interesting, don't you think, how the modifier "she claims" next to "non-sexual" puts an interesting spin on it all?

Since these 'Bozo Bullies on Viagra' keep their anonymity the way Ft. Knox keeps the government mint, there's no way of correcting or clarifying this information once it's "out there" in the blogosphere.

Except, to use my own blog as that vehicle.

This interruption to your viewing pleasure has now ended. Please return to your regular blogging entertainment.

Well, we knew they were liars!

I am sadly amused to note that in the same thread, the blog host called the poster to account. Not for slamming your integrity with a blind side cheap shot, not for impugning the loving relationship of people he does not know, but for suggesting people leave TEC!

Amazing! Utterly amazing.

My, my, my ... just when you think they can't go any lower the bar goes down a notch.

Amazing how much time goes into all this "fertilizing" the blogosphere ... don't they have acolytes to train or shut-ins to visit?

Mark: Ya gotta give 'em points for consistency.

Jim: I love the term 'blog host.' It's so, oh, I don't know, genteel in a way. When applied to a Bullie on Viagra, well, it just made me giggle.

Their obsession with you is proof that you are on the right track.

Thank you for being out there, doing it,and talking about it, and being a target.

I was taught in Pastoral Care 101 that 'obsession' is always a cover for hostility and anger.

Gee, ya think?

Every time I see someone lambasting another's family arrangement, I wonder whta their own family is like. And then I get sad. :( And then I want to invite them over on the 4th of July to my Family Reunion, which is about 40% biological, 40% adopted unofficially, 10% God-created relationships (my godbrother, my godsister, my godparents), and 10% "Hi, who are you again? Nevermind, it don't matter, here, have a beer and a seat and some food and some talk."

That bunch are certainly obsessed with you!
I think they need some hobbies.

I'm getting worried, darling. Might you be getting a bit safe and mainstream if they're having to make stuff about you. Suggest you do something really outrageous as soon as possible to get your evil priestess reputation back to it's former status.

That's the point, darling. No matter what I do or don't do, say or (obviously) don't say, The Bullies will always think I am an 'Evil Priestess'.

The truth is, I'm really just a very boring priest working for Jesus in the serious suburban vineyards of Republicanville.

I know. If it were an easy job, anyone could do it. Even one of The Bullies.

dear, dear Elizabeth+
1) you are anything but boring m'dear!
2) as pathetic as their lies and misrepresentations might be, it's important that they be called on it and their lies deconstructed- even if only in our respective little corners of blogdom
So score one for the Radiant Priest from Republicanville!

Boring evil priestess?
I think not.
