Come in! Come in!

"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a Hope-er, a Pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer; if you're a pretender, come sit by my fire. For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!" -- Shel Silverstein

You're only as old as you feel

Okay, boys and girls (of a certain age), here's today's "pop" quiz.

Who is this man?

a. The Ambassador of Germany.

b. The Financial Manager at a Volvo Dealership.

c. The Maitre d' at The Four Seasons.

d. The Director of a Funeral Home.

Circle one answer. You have five minutes.

Somebody cue the Jeopardy theme.

Remember to answer in the form of a question.

Okay, all pencils down.

How did you do?

Ready for the answer?

No you're not, but here it is anyway.

Hey, hey, he's a Monkee. People say he monkied around. But he was too busy singin' to put anybody down.

Now how old do you feel?

BTW, his mother invented "White Out" - something else that is rapidly going the way of the Dodo Bird.

Nobody's ever too old for the Monkee's. Hey, Hey.

Gee... time flies when you're having fun (most of the time anyway)!

Oh rats! Do you think I've got that much older too? Surely not.

At least I don't ever look that respectable -- here in the backwoods I think there MAY be one store that sells ties. But more relevant to me -- haven't bought stockings in about a decade or more.

The first record album I ever bought was the Monkees.

I think I'm gonna go lie down now.

At least he has hair he can still part!

What the heck is he doing in a suit without is little hat on?? Of course we wouldn't recognize him in a suit and tie!! He's my favorite Monkee. Ya'll probably think I'm too young, but I have all the albums...and I can play most of the songs on my guitar. And I knew the bit about the white out too. Hmmm...now I just sound like a dork...

This might help you visualize the aging process

YIKES!! I think going with the suit and tie was a good call for Michael.

And Clumber, you naughty dog, don't you even THINK about doing that with anyone else's picture.

Unfair question. The correct answer was not listed.

On another note, I think he's wearing Jim Mollo's shirt in that picture.

... mine is turning 50 this year. "Thanks" for the reminder.

we can all look that respectable, it just takes more time each year.
