We must find a way to bring the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to an end. There is increasing consensus on both sides of the political fence on this point.
The Gratitude Campaign is not about politics. It is about saying 'thank you' to those who fight in a war not on their own soil, of their own making, and often not of their own desire. They want to be home with their families as much as we all want them home and safe and the world to be at peace.
While we work and pray to bring an end to war, let us not forget to say 'thank you'.
"Finally, I suspect that it is by entering that deep place inside us where our secrets are kept that we come perhaps closer than we do anywhere else to the One who, whether we realize it or not, is of all our secrets the most telling and the most precious we have to tell." Frederick Buechner
Come in! Come in!
"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a Hope-er, a Pray-er, a Magic Bean buyer; if you're a pretender, come sit by my fire. For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!" -- Shel Silverstein
